The Princess and the Pea
A prince wanted to marry a princess but could not find a real one. A storm happened, and a real princess knocked at the gate.  The queen rigged the bed with a pea, and so the princess did not have a good sleep.  The prince married her because she could feel the difference with the pea.  The pea was put into a museum.

The Emperor’s New Suit
An emperor wanted the best clothes and hired weavers to make something.  They convince the emperor that it is so fine that it is invisible to anyone unfit.  They all pretend to be working on the clothing.  All the ministers claim that they can see the clothing being worked on.  The emperor wears the "suit" and all the townspeople claim they can see the suit.  A child in the crowd says that he isn't wearing anything and the emperor realizes it.

The Brave Tin Soldier
On his birthday, a child gets 25 toy soldiers.  One soldier only has one leg.  He falls in love with a one-legged ballerina.  A goblin who also loves the ballerina warns the soldier.  Later, the soldier falls from the windowsill.  Two boys find him, and they sail him into a gutter and he meets a rat.  He then gets swallowed by a fish, and he finds himself back to the ballerina.  The boy throws the soldier into the fireplace, and the wind blows the ballerina into the fireplace.  In the morning, the soldier melted into a heart with the ballerina.  

The Wicked Prince
There was a prince who wanted to conquer the world.  He destroyed countries.  He became very wealthy.  The people looked up to him but didn't know his atrocities.  He then decided to conquer God too.  He ordered for a ship that could fly.  He had eagles lift up the ship.  The ship broke and came flying down.  He spent more years creating ships.  God sent little gnats that destroyed him again.  One gnat crept into his ear and stung him, and he was overcome.

The Little Match-Seller
On New Year's Eve, a girl tries to sell matches in the street.  She doesn't want to go home because of fear of her father.  She lights matches to warm herself.  She has visions of feats and Christmas trees.  She sees a shooting star and has a vision of her grandmother who treated her well.  After lighting all the matches, she is carried to heaven by the grandmother.  In the morning, people find her dead body and have pity for her, even when she was happy with her grandmother.
