Week 15 Brothers Grimm (Hunt) Reading Notes B

Grimm: Bearskin Household Tales by Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm A young man finished war but had nowhere else to go except to his brothers.  He was rejected with only his gun.  He went to go think under a circle of trees.  He heard a strange man with a green coat.  The man promised him wealth if he were to be found fearless.  The man told him to fire at a bear.  The strange man then told him that if he were to wear the bearskin for seven years without cleaning himself, he would have money in his pocket.  But if he died within the seven years, the man, actually the devil, would claim him.  He agreed to those conditions.  Within the first four years, it was easy to get shelter through the money, however after, he could not get shelter anymore from the inn.  He then gave money to the innkeeper who was having financial issues. The innkeeper was gratified and allowed him to marry one of his daughters.  The two older daughters fle...

Learning Challenge: Happiness Jar part 2

Image
Last week, I started the "Happiness Jar" learning challenge.  I decided to write down things that made me happy onto the notes on my phone.  It was pretty hard to do, since this season of the semester is very busy for everyone, and it does indeed get very stressful.  However, the few things that I wrote down made me more thankful for the good things that happened to me.  I'm not sure if I'm the only one who experiences this, but I tend to be more happy about something if I'm concretely thankful for it.  The Happiness Jar reminds me to be more thankful of my experiences. I have more happiness whenever I am thankful .

Growth Mindset: Acronym

Reach Even Deeper Objectively This week, my Acronym is "reach even deeper, objectively", or REDO.  It gives a good reminder that whenever we redo something, we need to reach deeper objectively.  By that, I mean that we increase our knowledge on the fundamentals and essence of the subject.  We objectively try to improve ourselves, rather than redoing and getting the same outcome.

Even though Thanksgiving has just now passed, it's always supposed to be a season of giving thanks year-round.  My plan is to do what's most convenient for me: I'm going to jot down what I'm thankful for and what makes me happy in the notes on my phone.  Jotting these things down overall make you more thankful for the life that's been given to us.   I sometimes find myself as simple as a stick figure , but I'm still happy at least

Growth Mindset: Acronym

I Don't Even Assume I haven't done an acronym in a few weeks, so I thought I'd do one.  My acronym of "idea" reads "I don't even assume".  I think that's what an idea should have.  We're so quick to dismiss ideas because we assume the worst of them.  However, dismissing ideas doesn't allow us to grow.  It only hinders us and lowers our field of vision.

Google Define Tech Tip

When I usually write things for any class, I find myself having words come up to my head as I write.  Sometimes, these are pretty big words, and I find myself not using the word appropriately.  So a tool that I use a lot is Google to define words that I need to check up the exact definition on.  I don't really use the etymology function of it much though since I'm not too interested in that.
