Assignments

I find the assignments a little bit strange.  It differs from other classes in that the other classes will usually have assignments that deal specifically towards its own topic.  However, in this class, it's less a class about mythology and folklore, but more of a class that encourages learning and projects while using mythology and folklore as more of a tool instead of having mythology and folklore as its core goal.  This definitely isn't a bad thing, it's just more of an unusual thing. 
One of the biggest tools in this class will be our blogs.

Learning Challenge: Happiness Jar part 2

Last week, I started the "Happiness Jar" learning challenge.  I decided to write down things that made me happy onto the notes on my phone.  It was pretty hard to do, since this season of the semester is very busy for everyone, and it does indeed get very stressful.  However, the few things that I wrote down made me more thankful for the good things that happened to me.  I'm not sure if I'm the only one who experiences this, but I tend to be more happy about something if I'm concretely thankful for it.  The Happiness Jar reminds me to be more thankful of my experiences. I have more happiness whenever I am thankful .

Wikipedia Trail - Brothers Grimm

Brothers Grimm  As a child, we were subject to innocent portrayals of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales.  I know that the stories are more gruesome than we actually know, so it's cool to read about the brothers. Walt Disney  I know that Walt Disney created most of the innocent portrayals of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales.  For me, Walt Disney is something of a constant for me.  I never really think about Walt Disney or the company.  It's just always been there, and I don't question it. National Film Registry  Most of the movies that I like are the classics.  So I was interested in this Wikipedia article because I think that it's a good source of what movies I might think about watching next. Die Hard  I've been meaning to watch this movie for such a long time.  Like, I definitely know it's a good movie, I just haven't gotten to watching it.  I wanted to read the Wikipedia, just so that I know what kind of movie it is....

Tech Tip: Canvas Mobile App

Ever since I started to use Canvas, I have had the Canvas App downloaded into my phone.  In my own experience, it is definitely worth it to have it downloaded to your phone.  Although expectedly, the app is more limited than the full version, there's still a lot to use with it.  For example, in the app, there is not a calendar with the assignments.  The assignments are with its respective classes.  A good feature that I've used multiple times is that you can upload a document straight from the Canvas app to the WEPA printer app to a WEPA printer on campus without it being difficult.  Overall, the Canvas App has its uses but it has a limited functionality.
